HUMAN CELL ATLAS

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Human Cell Atlas The Human Cell Atlas project/ technology is composed of an international community of clinicians, technologists, biologists, physicists, software engineers, computational scientists and mathematicians. Create a space for them to not only collaborate with each other, but to research further to expand their knowledge of the human cell.

CONCEPT:  Our concept was based on the human cell. We wanted to keep fluidity through our space by using organic architecture and cellular motifs. We also wanted our space to feel electric and futuristic due to our technology so we kept our color scheme white with pops of blues throughout the entire space.  The cell contains organelles which are structures within the cell that allows it to function properly. We realized that interiors act in the same way where the different areas of the space allows it to function. With further research, we assigned each one of our spaces to an organelle that directly correlates with their function. Our war room is the lysosome because it provides conditions for the enzymes to perform their functions just like how the war room provides the employees with a collaborative space to perform their functions throughout the day. Following our digital flooring detail which runs throughout the space you enter the forum. The forum is the Mitochondria because it is the powerhouse of the cell. The forum is going to have the energetic hustle and bustle of the everyday work schedule, and as you can see, the forum is split up into the energetic work area and the collaborative break out zone. The serendipitous space is the Endoplasmic Reticulum because it forms interconnected networks just like how in the serendipity, spontaneous connections are formed to discuss and communicate ideas. Finally the core of our building is our nucleus because it is the brain and control of our space
